| I, for one, am glad it is finally going into effect. If resturants had been responsible, and had completely segregated sections and air filtration systems, this ban would not have been necessary. Since they won't watch out their patrons, the city has taken this on for them. Dallas did this a while back and I can't tell you how nice it is to go to a restaurant or nightclub and be able to breathe...

Now if everyone will stop driving their cars, using outboard motors, and gasoline engines on their lawnmowers we would all be able to breath. Easy to give up something you don't utilize, but have to sacrifice something you do use , that is a different story.

The Smoking Ban is just some small minded people wanting to have their own way. If they were actually concerned why not put that same effort of crying for a smoking ban and the energy gloating over getting their way into campaigning for cleaner air and alternative fuels.

I've written on this before and The Tyler Paper wouldn't print it, so know you will never see this either. The powers that be don't want to discuss means to eliminate the fossil fuel monopoly.

I understand the "rights" issue, believe me I do. The arguement of cars and other engines isn't valid. I wouldn't park a running car in a restaurant and expect anyone to eat in there. In fact, both cigarettes and engine exhaust share many of the same emissions. Outdoors, exhaust gases are able to vent into the atmosphere.
