Dear Heidi,

We do not know what led to your lack of compassion for other people or the fact that you "don't care" that many people are taken back by your attitude. No one is saying that you don't have a right to disagree with a man's body of work or just plain- dislike someone. But having no feeling of genuine sadness or "compassion" when anyone including Senator Ted Kennedy is dianosed with brain cancer is shocking. You mentioned "tearing down the moral fiber of our country". Sadly it is people like yourself that profess morality, yet showing amoral tendencies that has young people of today barely able to differentiate between us. If someone has completely opposite views of myself and my family, we still are able to have emphathy for them. I hope for the sake of Smith County, you are not in the medical or legal field. I can't imagine looking up one day in a hospital bed and have a nurse with no ability set aside their political beliefs to have compassion for me or any other person. I will pray that no one judges you for your hard heart and if you are ever afflicted with an injury or illness or just plain terrible circumstances in life, you will hopefully be cared for by someone that is more tolerable of your belief system.

I did not like Heidi's statement about Kennedy, but it's time to give the girl a break! Lighten up people.

O my goodness, this has gone on far enough. I'm sure that Heidi is a moral and compassionate person, she just dosen't like Ted Kennedy, I don't either. I grew up in the 70's and my daddy was always talking about the things Teddy did and got away with because he was a Kennedy. Just like that girl that drowned at Chapaquidick, if he were me or you or Simual or Kimberly , we'd be under the jail, but not Kennedy. He's a senator... I've often wondered how can he still be a senator and to have done the things he's done. He's also a drunk from what the press says. I wonder how many DWI's he's gotten out of ? ( No offence to the drunk readers! )
I'm a compassionate person, I'm so sorry for his family, but sometimes I feel better if I think , what comes around goes around, or vengance is mine sayeth the Lord... At least he has lived a full life, that poor girl died so young.
I'll just say I am sorry for his family, but Lord its about time!

I agree. Heidi always opens her mouth but wants the conversation to end when it doesn't go her way. And then she continues the conversation after she's said she's done with it. She made the comment. Now we need to allow people to comment about her and her opinions. People all over the country read this forum. I don't want my name and city associated with Heidi just because we live in the same area. I have never, not one time, agreed with anything that came out of her mouth. She has shown that she lacks compassion on almost every subject from eduction, health-care, the environment (i.e. burning tires in honor of Earth Day), and untold other subjects. I try to take what she says with a grain of salt but she continues to open the wound and pour salt in. It's no wonder our country is so divided when the Heidi's of the world are given a venue to spew their lack of humanity and compassion. Every time I look at a Republican I think of Heidi and her comments. After all birds of a feather flock together.

I took a couple of days off to celebrate Memorial Day with my family - especially my two nephews who are Marines. Two men who I have great compassion for because of how they have lived their lives and how they have given so unselfishly by serving this country.

They fought in the battle of Fallejuah. They were the guys that drove into that disgusting city and fought the terrorists. They went door to door and cleaned out the garbage. They risked their lives to stop the spread of terrorism so it doesn't come knockin' on your door.

Do you really want to know what led to my lack of compassion for Mr. Kennedy? Simple. He got away with murder. He walked away from a drowning woman to cover his own butt.

You made a blanket statement about me without reading my original statement. I have no compassion for Mr. Kennedy. I didn't say the entire world - heck, I even have compassion for you. But not for people that live their lives in lies and deceit.

It is very simple.
