Taxation is actually a form membership dues. There has to be something going on that you trade your money for. Once you do, you are in and all members get equal treatment. That's the theory. Try not to stray from the theory.

You must have been listening to Lionel on Air America. I turn it on that station every now and then in order to effectively argue against their opinions. Lionel claims that taxes should be considered dues.

Last time I checked my Marine Corps League "Dues" did not have the power to destroy me.
