How should the money be spent? Right off the bat - I don't think that it should go to people with their hands held out. Cut back the money going into the welfare system. It is the most corrupt system in the country. That would save billions.

Let me think on the rest .......

What I'm asking is what should the role of government be in our lives; ie provide public education, provide protection from criminals and help during natural disaster, provide for national defense, roads and public transportation, health care.

That's what I'm getting at. What should government at various levels provide for its citizens?

You answered what you were against which was not the question asked.
