McCain has proposed giving every american 2500.00 or 5000.00 for families as a tax credit for health insurance. Further he proposes to send these payments directly from the federal government to the insurance companies.
What he does not tell you is that workers who now receive health insurance from their employers will be taxed on these benefits.
The Employee Benefit Research Institute, a non-profit organization supported by business, unions, foundations, and insurers, say the McCain type plan would likely mean the end of employer sponsered health care.
An average family insurance plan costs 12,106 while the average cost of an individual plan costs 4,479. End result will be an increase in those without health insurance and fewer employers offering this as a benefit.
Looking at this it would appear the difference between a liberal and a conservative is who gets the money. It looks like another corporate welfare scheme to me where the American worker ends up holding the bag.
NOT John McSame
Barack Obama for President Rick Noriega for US Senate

Where is it written that employers have to provide health insurance? It is very difficult to own your own company these days. My husband and father-in-law do it every day. Unless you have walked in their shoes, you have no way of knowing how stressful and demanding it is. They provide a lot of jobs in Tyler. I don't know how they do it with the amount of taxes they have to pay as a company. God forbid they make a profit.
Health insurance is a priviledge not a right.

How should the money be spent? Right off the bat - I don't think that it should go to people with their hands held out. Cut back the money going into the welfare system. It is the most corrupt system in the country. That would save billions.
Let me think on the rest .......
