Roy,
I thought your Sunday "Chicken in Every Pot" was an excellent opinion. I've always considered myself a republican but have felt that that party has just left me. The one thing that you did not hammer on that I would have that has bothered me so much is the right-wing anti-choice stance that the Rep. "base" seems to have taken.
We hear so much about how that party wants less government and yet they want to control something as basic as the woman's right to choose. This is a moral personal issue that should be left to the individual. Being a child of the 60's, I just can't accept this right wing radical thinking.
