Someone sent your article to me, titled 'Should Religiious Doctrine Be Superior To Law Of The Land? We had been discussing the situation, and had different view points.

I don't agree with the FCLD Church's beliefs. But unless there is solid proof that these children were being abused, the State had no right to do what it did. There are many cults that could be accused of being abusive, is the Government going to shut them down? What about children raised in homes with drug abuse, or the alternative life style?

I will wait before I jump to conclusions and judge that these children were abused.

Who will be next on their list? This is frightening!

My suggestion would have been to make the men, or the accused abusers leave the house. Let the mothers and children stay in their homes. How awful to take these children away from not only their mothers, but their homes and everything familiar to them. They did nothing wrong. Put out the accused! That would have also solved the "placement problem" they are having now. The men can fend for themselves.
Is this a rant or a view-point, or just maybe MY opinion?

The Jehovah's Witnesses have settled lawsuits alleging church policies protected pedophile men who sexually abused children for many years.
The victims were required to sign gag orders to prevent them from saying anything about the money or more importantly about their abusers. Yet more importantly the court documents that were part of the five year legal battle shows exactly what despicable sinks of debauchery that supposed leaders and elders of Jehovah's Witnesses will go to in order to protect pedophiles.

The written record is incriminating and shows the cover up, protection and enabling of Jehovah's Witness child molesters around the world.

sorry, but when it comes to the protection of children and vulnerable adults, safety should be first and foremost. If that means removing those people from a dangerous environment and while investigating the individual(s) allegedly perpetrating crimes, then I'm all for it.

after all, look at the huge black eye the leadership of the Catholic Church gave itself by shuffling around pedophile priests instead of removing them and filing criminal charges against them. Do we really want to be a society that screams about the wrong that went on at that level, and to that degree, yet offer immunity to members of a sect that's cultivating a similar environment, because their civil and religious rights should be protected?
