| The ignorance of some people in this area is mind numbing..

Thinking that the United States is a "Christian Nation" is certainly proof of that.

It's scary that so many people in this area listen to the conservative militants and dose up on right-wing radio before claiming to know all the "facts" on an issue. It's taking a huge amount of funding to make up for a decade of Republican mismanagement. Tons of social programs were cut to be able to give the rich even MORE tax breaks (who in turn took the huge tax breaks an used the money to move jobs overseas...) And that's what conservatives want to return to?

My, my Donnie:

Your class envy is showing and it isn't pretty. Before you are so quick to slam Republicans for ALL of this mess please look back and take note that your Democrats have been running the show since 2006.
It is your Democratic Congress that got us into much of this mess.

Barney Frank is the ring leader for the housing crisis. Barney Frank has been in Congress since 1981. He is the Chairman of the Financial Services Committee. He spear headed the Fannie May Freddy Mac fiasco. He told the Bush Administration in 2005, when it questioned the stability of it, that he saw no problems with this. Everything was A.O.K. The housing crisis started this economic crisis we are all facing today.

Mr. Franklin - get over it. Bush is not President and now you and all the BO supports OWN THIS MESS. I will question this administration everyday until BO is out of office.

You can't get out of this mess by spending more and more money. We don't have enough money! We are broke. We need to cut the fat in Washington and it starts by voting out anyone that voted for these ridiculous bailouts - Republicans and Democrats.

I'm actually in awe of how you cling to an alternate version of reality...

With all due respect my dear Heidi, you're blowin smoke!

Unless one party or the other has a majority of 60 in the US Senate they are not in control. The Democrats had a slight edge in the Senate but not enough to stop the Bush team and their agenda.

Keep in mind that Bush led us into a war that was unjustified and unlike any other President, did not provide a means to pay for it. He also passed tax cuts but failed to enforce corresponding budget cuts to pay for it. I could go on and on but I will let the history of the past eight years speak for themselves. We went from budget surplus to budget deficits.

Bill - I guess that is the base of where we disagree. The war in Iraq was justified in my mind. I am glad that Bush did exactly what he did. We were attacked, just like Pearl Harbor. The only difference is that the terrorists today don't wear a uniform like the Japs or Germans did. FDR did not have the means to pay for WWII but he went in anyway. This country was in the throws of a depression and we were no where ready to pay for a war - but we did. We did because we are Americans. Sound corney? I don't care. We use to stand for something but now with BO is charge we are a bunch of pathetic wimps.

By the way, Happy V-E Day.

Hey Bill,

Are you ever going to let go of the BDS?

He's gone, and now we have someone new in charge.

But talking about unjustified wars.

WW 1 Democrat Woodrow Wilson (after stating we're too proud to fight) What was the justification?

WW 2 Democrat FDR (after trying unsuccessfully to impose a 100% tax on income over $25,000). What was the justification for the European Theater?

Korea Democrat Harry S. Truman (who opposed loyalty oaths for federal employees). What was the justification?

I personally believe there was justification for U.S. involvement in all 3 of these wars, all initiated by Democrats by the way. If you see the justification as well, I find it hard to believe you can't feel the same about the Iraq war.

That BDS is still giving you fits, let it go.
