Whether Rubin believed the deregulation caused the problem or not is beside the point. The original writer was blaming Democrats for the problem because they have a small majority in congress since 2006. Now the Democrats do not have the 60 Senators they would need to control the Senate so IT JUST AIN'T SO.

The financial crisis has been building up for some time and the Bush Administration raised questions about Fannie and Freddie in 2003 and McCain says he raised questions about it in 2005. Both these years were when the Republicans had control and still nothing got done.

At any rate, there is no point in blaming either side now. We are in great danger economically and if we wish to maintain our way of life and our military strength we will have to correct course. We will also have to find out how we got here and take steps to make sure it doesn't happen again.

It is time we forget about the Rhetoric of I'm a Dem, you're a Rep, I'm a liberal, you're a conservative, etc etc etc and start discussing issues and who will be best suited to fix them.

I believe the Obama / Biden ticket is the way to go. You don't agree (at least not yet (lol) ).

Rick Noriega is running for US Senate. Rick is a 26 year member of the Texas Nat'l guard. He has served a year in Afghanistan and recently was helping with Hurricane Ike. Rick has served in the Texas House for 10 years and has also taught school at the High School and Jr College level. We need a change in Washington.

Rick Noriega is our man for the US Senate!
Obama for President
