I agree that credit scores should have nothing to do with auto insurance, whatsoever. For insurance companies to claim that people with lower credit scores file more claims may indeed be "profiling", in my opinion.

Yes, and they also use your zip code....it's nothing but a racket...insurance companies overcharge you, but then when you file a claim, they don't want to pay it and when they finally do they want to cancel your policy...on the other hand if you dont carry insurance, then you risk being ticketed and having your car towed. Face it...we're all screwed.

I too think that is silly and irrelevant for insurrance. But in this lifetime everything is based on our credit scores , so weather we agree or not we all just need to be responsible and teach that to our children ( the importance of credit worthiness ) . Don't be late on your bills , Don't Spend what you dont have , and if you do get late , make paymnt arrangements and Dont let it go to a collection agency to ruin your credit. You know you owe it so pay it , and if you do have bad credit you should have known that would happen , so dont complain when you cant get something or your charged a higher rate , Afterall whatever company is on your credit trusted you to pay it and you didnt so why should any other company trust you even if it is for something as silly as car insurance ?
