This is by far the best response that I read! He was so caught up in feeling like a stranger that he has judged everyone that lives in the area. It is a very sad thing that has happened to the children in Mineola! I hope everyone involved goes to jail for the rest of there lives!!! There is no excuse for these actions. The only thing that I can do is pray that God will put his arms around these children and comfort them. Come back to Tyler and open your heart. Not to sound judgemental but if you acted the way in person as you did in your post then maybe there is a reason you where a STRANGER!!!

I am still amazed that this man had the audacity to send this letter to the paper. What happened? No one gave you the keys to the city? They didn't roll out the red carpet when you came through. I am sorry, but you sound like a pompous windbag! Didn't anyone ever tell you, that you usually get out of something what you put into it? I believe it was Abe Lincoln who said, people are usually as happy as they make up their mind to be.
To comment on the horror that these children were subjected to and somehow imply that it was the fault of the towns and the people in them is lunacy speaking. Scum always tries to hide, and there is plenty of it trying to hide in the nooks and cranny's of the country. I am sure there is plenty of it in West Virginia also. I, for one, am thankful that you took yourself on through this area and went far away from us. I feel sorry for your congregation, you don't sound like a loving pastor that would be a good mentor or help to anyone.
