Let me clarify my post. As for the WHOLE town turning away. YES it did, because when you come from a small town as I did, rest assured everyone knows everyones business. I leave the drama to others as I am not versed in that area. They chose to look the other way. What happened to me then had nothing to do with ANY church. I neither blamed any church family or GOD!

Yes I did have a bad experience in church (here in Tyler), yes it happens. I HAVE moved on, I started by finding a church where I was welcomed and treated like family. I didn't hold anything against that church for being the way they are. When a church gets to the point that they are so large they do not miss one of their members, then something is wrong. That is why I go to small churches when I choose to go.

But as I stated you and everyone else has their opinions. We all have choices. Sometimes we make mistakes in making our choices. The true test is being able to admit that.

The answer to your dilemma dear Carla is to find a church, or better yet, go back to the one that treated you badly and YOU head up the welcoming committee. When someone new comes, or if someone misses, YOU greet , call, check on, ectera... YOU make sure no-one feels like you felt. YOU know that that church is lacking in that area , so YOU fill it. WHO BETTER... Instead of complaining about what someone else didn't do, YOU do it. If it is or was truly a house of the Lord you are a member of God's family and your just changing places looking for a new job in a new house of God. If the members don't welcome your help, you are in the wrong place, you may have been in one of Tyler's country club "churches" in that case email me and I'll invite you to mine.
Tyler does have some snobby clicks but not near like it used to, they are easy to avoid. There are some really good people here.
As far as that "stranger " goes, I'm with Heidi...Good riddance!
