I agree with you Linda. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but this man cannot expect his associates to be ignored, after all, Bill wants us to look at McCain's school record from over 50 yrs ago. With the new video of the priest and his racist comments at Obama's church, he now resigns his membership? It seems that racist rants have been and are still the norm at this church. And it seems that until he became the Democratic front runner, Obama was fine with this type of sermon. We now have video's of two different pastors spewing racial hatred at a church he attended for over 20 yrs. Why do some find this acceptable as long as it is not directed at African Americans??? When the Wright video first surfaced Obama stated and I quote, I could no more disavow this man than the black community. But not too long after that, he had no problem throwing Reverend Wright under the bus! I would have had more respect for him if he had stood by his original decision. He has shown himself no better than any other candidate, despite his pretty speeches and him casting himself as the great unit-er. he is just another guy doing anything he can to get elected. His policy's and the things he has stated he wants to do, scare me to death. I suggest people check out his voting record where you can really see what he has and hasn't been for as a senator, and read his books. He thought so much of the man he threw under the bus, that he took the title of one of his sermon's and used it for his book title.

Drea - Obama's voting record

You ask us to check out Obama's voting record. What is it specifically you object to?

You stated his:
His policy's and the things he has stated he wants to do, scare me to death.

Which policies would those be?

1. He wants to be sure that all children in Ameica receive a quality education. He also asks parents get more involved and shut off the TV so their children can study.
2. He wants better pay for our teachers.
3. He wants to give tax credits for college tuition and also wants students to pay this back with community service.
4. He wants to end the war in Iraq, pulling out our troops over a sixteen month period and with council from our generals.
5. He wants to restore our standing in the world by following a rational foreign policy.
6. He wants to attack the energy crisis with new investment that will create jobs accross this country.
7. He wants to stimulate small business with tax breaks for those companies that hire new employees
8. He wants to lower taxes for the lower and middle class.
9. He wants to lower health care costs and offer affordable health care to all Americans at an affordable cost regardless of pre-exisiting conditions.
10. He wants to improve the VA system so our vets returning with PTSD will get diagnosed and treated.
11. He wants to strengthen our GI bill so our vets can get a college education in exchange for risking their lives for this country.
12. He wants to rectify the system that has left so many of our Viet Nam vets homeless.

Which of the above policies do you find unacceptable?

Yes I did critize McCain for his previous education from High School thru flight school. He showed a consistant disregard for authority and I have to wonder if that will spill over to a disregard for the US constitution as well.

McCain disavowed the religious right in 2000 but then tried pandering to them this election. After Hagee and Parsley were found to be controversal he disavowed them both. McCain knew the Bush tax cuts would be bad for the country because they would create huge budget deficits, which they have. Now he wants to continue those same failed policies. McCain wants to stay in Iraq but seems against negotiation and yet the ultimate winning strategy in Iraq can only be a negotiated settlement between the Kurds, shi'ite, and Suni's.

You refer to Rev. Wright and the priest as examples of the company Obama keeps or the church he attends and bring up racial hatred. Obama has not ever promoted racial hatred and in fact has called for unity amoung all races. The real divisions in this country are based on economic status, not race, and Obama's life's work has been aimed at improving economic status amoung the poor.

There are times when who one associates with should scare you. McCain was one of the Keating five. Charles Keating was convicted for fraud and McCain was one of five senators supporting him. The savings and loan scandels cost the American taxpayers plenty. Both Neil and Jeb Bush were involved as well.

Now, Phil Gramm is McCain's chief economic advisor. Gramm's bill to deregulate the banking industry, his employment with USB and their involvement in the subprime mortgage crisis, and Wendy Gramm's involvement in the deregulation scandel at Enron should scare you. This association is one where McCain is talking of making Gramm Secretary of the Treasury. This is truly guilt by association.

There are those who will be afraid to vote for Obama because of his race just as there are those that would not vote for Clinton because of gender or those who won't vote for McCain because of age. We need to examine policies and goals and visions for America; not race, age, or gender when picking our next President.

My challenge to McCain supporters is to spell out why they think McCain is going to be the better President.

Vote Obama for President
Vote Noriega for US Senate

Support our troops by voting for those who will do the same
