Linda E. Montrose asks:

Why is it that every word you hear out of Barack Obama's mouths are derogatory to America? His wife, Michelle Obama, has repeatedly said what a mean country this is and how she has never been proud of it in her whole adult life until now.

I doubt you have heard every word of Baracks speeches becuase if you had you would know he cares about the disenfranchised in this country.

Obama and his wife both realize that they many of the programs that helped them rise up in education and realize the American Dream are no longer available to our younger citizens today. They hope to correct this when Barack Obama is elected by improving education and helping to make college more affordable, not only for the young, but for our Veterans and those workers displaced in the work force.

I have never heard Michelle Obama repeatedly say what a mean country this is. One time she expressed a sentiment poorly and of course political pundits jumped on her proud of America statement like it was the most awful thing ever spoken, when in reality she was expressing her pride in America and how far we have come politically when an African American actually had a chance to become President of the United States.

Once again, in this election, people try to muddle the waters using guilt by association, phoney security issues, and other silly political things. However, this time must be different. This country is facing some important challeges in education, health care, infrastructure, a military stretched to thin, veterans not being cared for properly, looming inflation on the horizon, failed economic policies, and a weakened dollar.

Attributing broad sweeping statements like 'all words are derogatory to Ameica or what a mean county this is does not live up to the challege of good citizenship.

This time let's do it differently. Let's study the candidates stands on the issue and vote according.

I believe Obama is the best candidate; you may feel differently. Still it behooves all of us to become really informed on real issues and cast off the 'silly season of politics'
