I agree.
My neighbor and I have to trade off purchases every couple of weeks. I drive a large Ford pickup--which I need to because of work--and the long drive to a neighboring county to purchase alcohol is disconcerting, to say the least.
What boggles the mind is that there has been an outrage for the recent smoking ban, often citing that personal rights have been infringed upon by intrusive government.
Well, I sort of see the "dry" counties as doing something similar. The ability to purchase alcohol (whether it be beer or wine) at a grocery store is something that more than 80% of all Americans have available to them right now.
I know it is wishful thinking, but I hope that people move in this direction in the near future. Have a so-so "dry" county does not really curb drunk driving. It only makes it inconvenient for most Tylerites.
