Post Subject: Lower Gas prices Read Article

Actually Mr. Terrill, two candidates are talking about lowering gas prices this summer by suspending the 18.? gasoline tax. Clinton and McCain have both offered this proposal. Almost all economists say this is a bad, bad idea.

Obama, on the other hand, does not support this. He sees it as a way of pandering votes. While in the Illinois legislature, they tried this only to find that the gas stations and oil companies just raised the prices and thur the american citizen did not benefit. Obama learns from his mistakes.

Obama says he is in favoring passing a second phase of the stimulus package that would put more money into the pockets of the American citizen than the suspension of the tax cut. He also talks of a tax cut for low and middle income wage earners after he is president.

In previous letters, I've talked about the relationship between the devalued dollar and the price of oil. It is estimated that 1/3 of the 100.00 plus price for a barrel of oil is caused by the dollar's devaluation.

Putting our country back on a solid economic footing will do some good in dropping the price of oil if the dollar strengthens but all we do now will have to be a long term fix and it may take awhile.

Obama has told detroit that we need to build more energy efficient cars and more hybirds if we are to solve our energy prices. He tells those who support (or not) him the same thing. He will not sugar coat the problem. That's how we got in this mess to began with.

Our politicians since the seventies have been beholding to the energy lobbyists and it was not in their interest to find solutions to our dependance of foreign oil. Now that global warming is starting to be recognized as a problem, people are starting to take note.

We may not be able to immediately solve the high gas price but we can vote for a politician willing to take the hard choice and tell the American people the truth instead of what we want to hear.

I urge you to vote for Obama for president and Noriega for US senate. Noriega has a website as does Obama where you can check out their positions. Noriega is also a veteran of Afganistan and understands the needs of our vets.
