I agree with Jo. I was born in the USA but learned English primarily from my paternal grandparents, both of whom were born and educated in England. I took my first college degree from McGill University (the Royal Institute for the Advancement of Learning) in Montreal. I have no doubt that I speak English.

For the eleven years I have lived in Texas I have never once heard a single individual who is native to this region speak English.

What is spoken here might be described as "American" or "Southern" or perhaps, simply, "Texan" but certainly not English.
