I don't wonder very much. I've seen enough to be convinced that most trouble & problems are caused by wrong choices, and that a lot of training is required to have the ability to discern between right & wrong. Given the opportunity I would choose to live in a society where responsibility and discipline was the goal, that means consideration of others. And I learned that as a 5-year private, carrying an M-1 and the first thing done every morning, picking up area trash. That was the best job & work I ever did, before & since. I had the high honor & distinct privelige of once working for HST. Thank you Sir, you remain the best individual I ever expect to remember. My Drill Instructor, SSGT Douglas D. Gardner, a survivor of 44 months captivity from Wake Island, lined us up in a raw civilian recruit platoon in Dec., 1947, looked us over and said: " You feces birds are uneducated, unmotivated and therefore undisciplined, AND WE (THE USMC) HAVE PLACES FOR ALL OF YOU!". YES SIR, SERGEANT GARDNER, Gary Hall, (come out to CR 1140 & I'll show you how to pick up trash), if anybody cares.
