If we here in United States want to improve health care then there are 3 things that need to be done:
1. Allow insurance companies to compete for policy holders across state lines. (national competition will drive down prices)
2. Enact tort reform to lower the physicians cost of doing business and eliminate their need to practice defensive medicine. (if it cost them less to do business then they can charge lees and still remain profitable)
3. Give tax credits for individuals who don't have employer paid benefits in the amaount of the average annual cost of a policy. And a smaller credit for those who have to pay a share of cost for employer provided benefits. (Amiricans will still have a choice whether they want insurance)
The above steps will reduce the costs of health care, health care insurance and it will not change anyones coverage or force them into a government plan. If the current health care plan was not a power grab, then it would only be targeted at the 47 million uninsured (as the steps above are) and not the other 254 million Americans who are already covered. If you were afraid of President Bush, then you should be horrified by President Obama!! It's time for Amricans to stand up and say NO MORE!!!!
God Bless Texas!

That was a great post - very easy to understand and I agree with all your ideas - these ideas should be put into action by our politicians on both side of the isle.
