TJC blood drive continues today
Staff Reports

Tyler Junior College’s blood drive continues today. The school is attempting to meet a 50-gallon blood drive challenge again this year. As of Wednesday evening, the school had about 22 gallons.

Blood can be donated between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. today and Friday at the college’s main campus at 1400 E. Fifth St. The community is invited to participate.

Carter BloodCare will set up on the Rogers Student Center second floor, according to a college news release.

A mobile site also will be available outside of TJC’s Pirtle Technology Center at the corner of East Lake Street and South Mahon Avenue.

Last year, the college surpassed the 50-gallon goal by raising more than 52 gallons of blood, according to the news release. It will take more than 400 donors to reach this goal again.

Door prizes will be awarded for every 50th-person milestone and every person who donates will be entered to win, according to the news release. Every donor will receive free food and a T-shirt, according to the news release.

Call the TJC Center for Student Life and Involvement Office at 903-510-2797 for more information.
