Jo Juanice Wells Paul
A funeral service celebrating the life of Jo Juanice Wells Paul, 73, of Tyler is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday in the Chapel at Green Acres Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Powell and the Rev. Ken Brumley officiating under direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery.
Juanice went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 18, 2013, at her home in Tyler, with her loving family surrounding her. She was born Nov. 16, 1939, in Port Arthur to the late Wilmer and Lucille Payne Tantzen. She had lived in Tyler the past 50 years. She was the commercial loan development officer for Regions Bank in Tyler and was a longtime member of Green Acres Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Jo Wells; a brother, David Michael Payne; and stepsons, Jerry Taylor Paul Jr. and Thomas Alan Paul.
Juanice is survived by her loving family, husband, Taylor Paul, of Tyler; daughters and sons-in-law, Terry Lee and Eddie Fowler, of Tyler, Lisa Marie and Howard Gottlieb, of Mansfield, and Susie Lynn Wells, of Alba; stepdaughter, Carol Ann Adams and her husband Gary M. Adams, of Tyler; brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Shirley Tantzen, of Woodville; sister-in-law, Ann Taft, of Argyle; sister, Lue Ellen Gregory and her husband Dr. Lewis Gregory, of Atlanta, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a faithful friend, Jessica Phifer.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Gottlieb, Jordan Gottlieb, George Arnold III, Howard Gottlieb, Ed Fowler, Chandler Payne, Alex Payne, Shay Paul, Casey Paul, Zachary Paul and Rob Adams.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.
