East Texas man arrested on aggravated assault charge

An East Texas man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly shooting another man last week on County Road 1113 near Texas Highway 155.
Rodrick Cridell Reece, 29, was arrested at a home near the crime scene, following a tip to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office, according to a news release from the department.

Reece was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a firearm, the release states.
The man who was allegedly shot by Reece on Thursday, March 7 was treated and released from a Tyler hospital, according to the release.
Reece’s bonds totaled $750,000 for the two charges, according to the Smith County Jail website.
