Holly Brook Baptist Church planning multiple upcoming events

Disciple Now, a weekend youth retreat for Holly Brook Baptist students, is March 15 to 17 with reservations being accepted now. Theme for the annual event is The Hunger Games: Defining Moments. Disciple Now includes worship, teaching, recreation and a service project.
This summer’s mission camp for students July 20-27 is to World Changers in Shreveport, La. The camp will give students the opportunity to serve others through construction projects, backyard Bible clubs and sports ministries. The cost is $310 per student, with a deposit of $50 due upon registration.
Senior adults, known as Saints Alive, at Holly Brook Baptist Church will continue their “Five Countries without a Passport” luncheon theme at a Tuesday meeting. Food will represent Russian cuisine with a “Feast Fit for a Tsar.” Members will bring a Russian food to the luncheon. The program for the day will feature the Cadmus family, who will discuss their upcoming mission assignment in Honduras through World Outreach Ministries.
The Saints Alive group is planning a day trip to Dallas March 21 to visit the new Perot Museum of Nature and Science and the Dallas Holocaust Museum.

GREATER ST. MARY
The Annual Youth/Inspirational Choir Musical will be 6 p.m. March 16 at Greater St. Mary Baptist Church, 1615 Texas College Road, Tyler. This event will be youth-centered with the theme, “It’s Yours for the Asking, Mark 11:24.” This event is free and open to the public.
The program will highlight performances from local church youth groups, including Starrville CME Church in Winona, Spring Creek Baptist Church in Tyler and the dynamic Greater St. Mary youth/inspirational choir, under the direction of BJ Hooks. Also featured will be a special guest performance by God’s Purpose Choir of Ashdown, Arkansas.

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH
First Baptist Church in Tyler is preparing to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the sanctuary that was completed in March 1913. Although the church has pictures of the outside of the building, it is requesting photos from the community of the inside, preferably from before the renovations in 1939.
