Korban is a smart and polite 7-year-old.

“He's very loving. He's very cuddly. He would bring a lot to a family. He loves being part of a family and wants that very much,” Shayla Ballew, his Child Protective Services caseworker, said.

Korban has spent the past two years in foster care. “He was having to be the caregiver for him and his younger sister.”

Now, he's enjoying just being a kid again. Korban likes swimming, painting, being outside and playing video games.

“I like Batman 2,” Korban said.

He's also doing well in the first grade. “I like going to school and I like to read,” he said.

Korban has made great progress with his behavior the past year. Because of his past, he's had to work through a constant fear of never knowing where his next meal would come from. Now, he's able to talk about food with ease and no worry.

“My favorite food is macaroni and cheese,” he said with a smile.

This young boy is excited about the possibility of being adopted.

“I don't know what my forever family is going to be, but I want one,” Korban said. “I want a nice mom and dad, like young so they can play with me.”

Korban would do best in a family with older children and one that will provide him with structure and daily routines.

“He tells me every time I see him that he wants his forever family,” Ballew said. “He would be a great asset to anyone's family!”
