Passport event planned in Golden community

The Golden community in Wood County will host a passport event in honor of National Passport Day.

March 9 has been dubbed as “a national passport acceptance and outreach ev­ent,” according to a news rel­e­ase.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., workers will hand out passport information and accept passport applications at the post office, 5785 Farm-to-Market Road 779.

U.S. citizens must present a valid passport when entering the United States by air, the release states. Citizens traveling from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Ber­muda at land borders and sea ports must present passport books, cards or other approved travel documents.
