Rudy’s Bar-B-Q raising funds for food banks
Staff Reports

Rudy’s “Country Store” and Bar-B-Q in Tyler will sell its egg and brisket breakfast tacos Saturday for 32 cents in honor of Texas Independence Day.

The reduced price will be offered from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, and Rudy’s will donate the 32 cents to East Texas Food Bank, representatives announced Wednesday. Rudy’s also will donate $1 for every new like on Facebook, Twitter follower and Instagram follower from Saturday through March 9. Funds raised will be divided among food bank partners across the state.

“For several years, Rudy’s Bar-B-Q has celebrated Texas Independence Day by giving guests a special deal, at the same time, helping to raise funds for charity,” Pete Bassett, vice president of operations at Rudy’s, said in a prepared statement. “We wanted to thank our supporters the Texas way with a great deal while fighting hunger in our communities.”

Rudy’s egg and brisket tacos regularly cost about $1.70.

The breakfast taco deal is limited to one per person and only available at participating locations. For more, visit rudys.com/txindependenceday.
