Official Texas Gumbo Cook-off with an outdoor cooking competition that begins at midnight. Open to public, cooks and samplers are needed and tastings begin at 11 am. Recipes Needed, Cherokee County:
The American Legion Post 162 is collecting family recipes from Jacksonville and Cherokee County for an upcoming cookbook. Fresh by Brookshire's celebrates Global Flavors with Viva Italia! Savor the best of Italy with wine tastings, cooking demonstrations, Italian product samplings, new gelato flavors, brick-oven pizza on the deck and more. Easter Eggstravaganza at Sweet Gourmet. Join us for an all day event with Wusthof knives and their executive chef Mike Garaghty. The Wusthof collection will be demonstrated and on sale for 25 percent off. Janie Fletcher with Now Designs will be here for a table linen trunk show. Le Creuset will be also be here for cooking demonstrations with their products. Several giveaways and special pricing throughout the day. That evening there will be an Easter 3 Ways cooking class with Chef Garaghty – from a picnic, Sunday lunch or formal Easter dinner. Reservations necessary for the class.
