Tyler ISD Board President Will Not Seek Re-Election To District 6 Seat
Tyler ISD board President Michelle Carr will not seek re-election to a fourth term.
Mrs. Carr, who was first elected as the District 6 trustee in 2004, said she has witnessed firsthand the commitment and pursuit of excellence by the district's teachers, administrators and staff members, according to an emailed statement.
“I want to thank everyone who has supported me during my time on the board,” Mrs. Carr wrote. “I will continue to support the district in any way I can as a member of the community and parent of a Tyler ISD student.”
The Rev. Dr. Marty Dunbar last week filed to run for the District 6 position. Dunbar is associate pastor at Marvin United Methodist Church.
