Tyler Police investigate early Friday aggravated robbery
Tyler police continue to investigate an aggravated robbery from earlier today.
Police responded to the incident about 3:45 p.m. at 620 W. Houston St.
The victim, Arthur Williams, and his girlfriend, Denese Polley, went to that location to meet an acquaintance under the pretense of renting an apartment there, according to a news release.
“They brought the deposit money for the apartment with them in cash. The acquaintance produced a knife and demanded the money. After getting the money, he fled south bound on Kennedy Street,” the news release states.
The victims provided a name and description of the robber. However, police said in a news release that more investigation is necessary to verify the identity before the name is released.
