Pope's Resignation, February 13
Not being Catholic, I don’t assume to know anymore than anyone else. However it seems that Pope Benedict XVII has made the decision that the Church and its stabilities are much more important than his personal Papal preservation. To me it is living proof of a great and holy man to concern himself with his flock rather than himself.
Were it that many in our own government had as much courage, honesty, and love of country rather than love of power, greed, and self. Unfortunately that’s not the case. The personal gratification and need of self-aggrandizement just can’t be overridden by the needs of the nation.
