Tyler Police seek help identifying store burglar
Staff Reports

The Tyler Police Department was asking the public for help in identifying a man who stole cigarettes from two gas stations last week.

Tyler officers were called to the Speedy Stop Shop, 900 W. Front St., at 3:16 a.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the department.

An unknown person broke a glass door to get in the store and stole numerous packs of cigarettes from a display rack behind the counter, the release states.

About 30 minutes later, a similar burglary was reported to the Smith County Sheriff's Office at a gas station at Texas Highway 31 and Greenbriar Road, the release states.

Tyler police released photos of the man involved in the first burglary.

Anyone who knows the man in the photo is asked to contact the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF (2833).

Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed in this case or any felony case.
