Holly Brook Baptist events scheduled for coming weeks
Holly Brook Baptist Church will have a variety of events in upcoming weeks.
The Moms of Military Ministry at Holly Brook Baptist Church meets at 5 p.m. Sunday. The community is invited. The group was organized to bring together those who want to support U.S. military troops. Periodically, members adopt projects for members of the military, such as sending Christmas cards and “Care” packages.
On Feb. 14, senior adults will volunteer at The Salvation Army in Tyler to serve meals, visit with patrons and possibly assist in the Family Store. Those who want to take part may register in the Family Life Center.
The youth ministry will host a pancake lunch on Feb. 24 to raise money for students to go to World Changers summer camp and mission trip in Shreveport, La. Cost of the meal is a donation to the camp fund.
Tea & Tales Book Club began its fifth year. The group meets the second Monday of the month at 2 p.m. in Holly Hall at Holly Lake Ranch. Club members read and hear a review of a Christian fiction book for each meeting. Visitors are welcome.
The annual Women’s Retreat at Holly Brook Baptist Church will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 16 in the Family Life Center. Theme of the meeting will be “In Awe of God and I am His Child.” Guest speaker will be Katherine Pang, writer, speaker, WMU director at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Also featured at the retreat will be “Ask The Doctors” when a panel of health specialists will answer questions on Women’s Health.
Ms. Pang also will speak at the 11 a.m. service Feb. 17. Feb. 17 is “Women’s Day” at the church.

WEST UNION BAPTIST
West Union Baptist Church will celebrate Family and Friends Day at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The theme for the occasion is “Committed To Each Other As We Are To Jesus,” a reference to John 13: 34-35. Pastor Derrick Lott and Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Tyler will be the special guest. Rodney Angton is the pastor.

Celebration Services will be at 7 p.m. from Feb. 14 to 15 nightly at Bethany Word of Life Tabernacle at 6808 Paluxy Drive. The theme is “Celebrating God’s Love.” A Valentine breakfast will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 16, and a Valentine concert at noon. Terry Boren is the guest speaker, and Ed Sanders is the pastor.
