A.M. UPDATE: Wreck in REL parking lot; Oil tank explosion suspects turn selves in
WRECK IN REL PARKINGLOT
Emergency personnel responded to the parking lot at Robert E. Lee High School this morning around 8:30 on a report that someone had been hit by a car. Someone has been removed from the scene by ambulance. We'll let you know more when we know more.
AMERICAN US AIRWAYS MERGER
A deal for American Airlines and US Airways to merge is likely to be agreed on early next week, many news sources are reporting this morning. The board of directors of Fort Worth-based American's parent company is slated to meet Monday to consider the agreement, and an announcement could be made the next day. It would be a merger of the third and fourth largest airlines in the world, and a reorganization of the dominant airline at DFW Airport.

SUSPECTS IN OIL TANK EXPLOSION TURN SELVES IN
Three people who were indicted yesterday for their alleged role in last week's oil field explosion in Van Zandt County have turned themselves in, Van Zandt County Constable Precinct Four Pat Jordan said this morning. They were arraigned by Justice of the Peace Precinct Four Judge Scott Shinn, and were then transported to the Van Zandt County Justice Center in Canton, where they were in the process of posting bond. H.R. Price, Heather Wolfe and Brandy Wolfe, all of Van, were charged with criminal mischief and criminal trespassing.

The Whitehouse Chamber of Commerce is celebrating Texas Independence Day this year during their 3rd annual Reverse Raffle on Saturday, March 2nd.
