A.M. UPDATE: Dell drops out of stock market; It's National Pancake Day

DELL LEAVING STOCK MARKET
Slumping personal computer maker Dell, based in Round Rock, is bowing out of the stock market in a $24.4 billion buyout that represents the largest deal of its kind since the Great Recession dried up the financing for such risky maneuvers. The complex agreement announced today will allow Dell's management to attempt a company turnaround away from the glare and financial pressures of Wall Street. Dell stockholders will be paid thirteen dollars and sixty five cents per share to leave the company on its own. That's better than $11 level the stock was hovering at before word of the buyout talks trickled out last month, but a steep markdown from the shares' price of $26 less than five years ago.

NATIONAL PANCAKE DAY

Batter up breakfast lovers! Today is National Pancake Day and IHOP is giving away free pancakes until 10 p.m. More than 1,500 IHOP restaurants across the country are celebrating it, including some right here in East Texas. The pancakes are free, but IHOP encourages you to make a charitable donation to Shriners Children's Hospitals. IHOP's goal this year is to raise $3 million for Shriners Hospitals and other local charities.

KRISTEN WIIG JOINS CAST OF 'ANCHORMAN 2'
If you're among the many people anticipating the release of the "Anchorman 2" movie later this year, you'll be interested to learn that reports are circulating online this morning that Kristen Wiig has been added to the cast. Wiig's participation in the next chapter of Ron Burgundy's life dates back to rumors that ran throughout 2012. According to most reports, Wiig would sign on as a new love interest for Brick Tamland, the news organization's mentally deficient meteorologist with a brain of mush and a heart of gold. Can Wiig prove compelling enough to break up Brick's infatuation with household items? Or perhaps she's on board to play the true love of Brick's life — a lamp? Time will tell.

Thanks for watching, and look for our midday news update around the noon hour!
