UPDATED: Alleged rape victim testifies at Gomez trial
UPDATE: TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2:20 P.M.
A 15-year- old girl testified this afternoon Cesar Gomez had begun raping her when she was in the second grade.
The girl cried and was unable to say what had happened to her.
She was able to explain with the help of a drawing.
The child told jurors that Gomez had threatened to kill she and her mother if she told anyone of the abuse.
The trial for a Tyler man accused of repeatedly raping a young female during a six year period began today in the Smith County 241st district court.
Cesar Gomez, 33, faces a sentence range of 25 to 99 years in prison without the possibility of parole, defense attorney Don Davidson said.
The girl was allegedly raped from the time she was in second grade to 7th grade.
