Steve Hedricks
Services for Stephen Thomas Hedricks, 51, of Flint, will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Deville and Father Tom Jackson officiating.
A private burial will be in Flint Cemetery under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Hedricks passed away Feb. 2, 2013, under the care of The Hospice of East Texas.
He was born March 21, 1961, in Tyler to Billy Herchel and Robinell McClain Hedricks.
Steve, a longtime Tyler native, was a graduate of John Tyler High School’s Class of 1979. He attended Baylor University and Tyler Junior College. Steve worked for FEMA in 2005 as a claim representative after Hurricane Katrina. He was an electrician with Smith Electric Co., eventually becoming president. Steve enjoyed coaching Pop Warner football, riding his Harley, Lady Bears basketball and softball, as well as hunting and fishing.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Tom and Sammie McClain; and Goodloe and Estelle Hedricks.
He is survived by his loving family, including his sister, Phyllis Hedricks of Tyler; aunt, Margie Hedricks, of Flint; uncle, Joe McClain and wife Rosemary, of Tyler; and by many cousins.
Pallbearers will be Frank Ellison, Dennis Stimpson, Ricky Nelson, Bobby Davis, Rick Smauley, Steve Dark, Jeff Leonard and Gary Don Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Chrietzberg, Ed Raesz, Johnny Speake, Al Moore, Jimmy Hicks, Steve Jones, Harold Ray and Dick Berkhouse.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
If desired, memorials may be made to The Hospice of East Texas Foundation, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, 75701; or Flint Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 109, Flint, 75762.
