Silver Alert issued for man last seen in Tyler
A Silver Alert has been issued by the state in response to a missing adult, said Sgt. Noe Balderas of the Tyler Police Department.
Willie Hubert Wingfield was reported missing on Friday at approximately 11:45 p.m., according to the police.
Family told police Wingfield was driving from Dallas to Tyler to visit his girlfriend.
Wingfield stopped and called for directions at approximately 5:30 p.m. Wingfield said he was at the CVS Pharmacy on Glenwood and West Gentry.
At last contact, Wingfield said he was somewhere on Queen Street.
The family has been unable to contact him since, and his phone is not working or is turned off, according to the release.
Wingfield is a diabetic and is diagnosed with dementia. He is described as an African-American male with gray hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 7 and weighs 135 lbs.
He was last driving a 2000 green Dodge Intrepid, with Texas license plate number 640WFT.
