Texas House members assigned committees

Texas House members were assigned committees Thursday. East Texas House members drew the following appointments.
District 6 state Rep. Matt Schaefer, R-Tyler, was appointed to the Criminal Jurisprudence committee and the Defense and Veterans’ Affairs committee.
District 5 Rep. Bryan Hughes, R-Mineola, was appointed to the Appropriations committee and Criminal Jurisprudence committee.

District 7 Rep. David Simpson, R-Longview, was appointed to the County Affairs committee and Land and Resource committee.
District 2 Rep. Dan Flynn, R-Van, was appointed vice chairman of the Investments and Financial Services committee and as a member of the Homeland Security and Public Safety committee. Flynn also will serve as vice chairman of the Select Committee on Transparency and State Agency Operations.
District 11 Rep. Travis Clardy, was appointed to the Higher Education committee, Local Consent and Calendars committee and Special Purpose Districts committee.
