A.M. UPDATE: UT Tyler students to rally against rape; Randy Travis in court

SHUTTLE COLUMBIA ANNIVERSARY
We're one day away from the 10th anniversary of the Shuttle Columbia disaster over East Texas, and the Tyler Morning Telegraph has a multimedia package ready for you in Friday's paper and on TylerPaper.com. You'll hear from the local photographer who gained international fame with his iconic photo, to the journalists who recall how they had to spread out and cover the tragedy from all angles and perspectives. Be sure you check Friday's paper and tomorrow's video presentations here on TylerPaper.com.

COUNTRY STAR TO APPEAR IN COURT
Country music star Randy Travis is scheduled to appear today in a North Texas court, where prosecutors say he is expected to plead guilty to driving while intoxicated. The hearing in state district court in Sherman would end a drunken driving case that began last summer when Travis was accused of crashing his car while driving naked. Details of the plea agreement are expected to be released following Travis' court appearance. The misdemeanor is punishable by up to two years in jail and a $4,000 fine. However, one of Travis' attorneys, John Nix, has said he expects Travis will be sentenced to probation.

UT TYLER HOLDING RALLY AGAINST RAPE
The University of Texas at Tyler will hold a public event on campus this morning as part of the National Rally Against Rape. The public rally will begin at 11:30 a.m. on the patio just outside The Met. Discussions and a showing of the film “Transition to Survivor” and documentary “The Line” will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the University Center theater. The event is open to everyone, and it will be a safe place for survivors, according to Samantha Dwight, UT health education specialist.
