The firearms listed above don’t frighten me. Why? Because they are either rare or illegal — especially in the case of bazookas. Have you seen anyone walking down the street with one of those lately?
Words mean something. Those descriptors, whether the author of the article thought of them herself or just used what the media stylebook prescribes, end up scaring people who know nothing about guns.
As far as the “lack of a minimum federal standard,” we already have a minimum federal standard. It is the Second Amendment. It is not for putting a rabbit in the frying pan, nor even for stopping a thug from robbing or assaulting me in the bank parking lot, although those also are entirely within my right. It is to defend my God-given right against tyrannical governments.
“Gun safety experts” are usually gun control advocates.
Remember, when anyone says we don’t need the Second Amendment, that’s when we need the Second Amendment.
