Company gives 100 refurbished Dell computers to Lindale ISD
Staff Reports

Lindale ISD upgraded its technology with 100 refurbished donated computers.

The refurbished Dell computers were donated to the district by TDJC Manufacturing and Logistics, and were part of the Texas prison system Computer Recovery Program, which trains inmates in computer maintenance and construction, according to a news release from the district.

The computes came complete with flat-screen monitors, keyboards and mice, the release states. Five Hewlett Packard network printers also were donated.

The computers were used to upgrade labs at College Street Elementary School, Velma Penny Elementary School, and E.J. Moss Intermediate School’s East Campus.

“It allowed us to provide current technology to three aging labs that were using large and aging monitors and 8-year-old computers,” Mary Walker, Interim LISD Director of Technology, said in the release.

The computers are given to schools that request them on a first-come, first-served basis, and the district is on a waiting list for 200 additional computers from the program, the release states.
