Henderson County seniors can apply for college scholarships
Henderson County high school seniors could be eligible for $500 or more in scholarships from a local organization.
The Henderson County Retired School Personnel Association is offering several scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to be teachers.
The scholarships will be awarded to aspiring teachers based upon character, involvement in community and school activities, writing skills and scholastic achievement, according to a news release.

Trinity Valley Community College will give a matching $500 scholarship to any winner who enrolls at that campus for the fall 2013 semester.
Qualifying students may obtain applications and instructions from the person designated to handle scholarships at their campus or by calling 903-677-3466.
Completed applications must be submitted by March 1. Winners will be announced at the association’s meeting on May 8.
