Sheriff's Office searching for missing south Smith County woman
Smith County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in locating a missing woman.
Sheriff Larry Smith said at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday his agency was notified of a welfare concern of a citizen that was missing from her residence in the southern portion of Smith County between Whitehouse and Troup.
Smith said 38-year-old Shannon Michelle Johnson should be driving a black 2006 GMC Envoy (mid-size SUV), displaying Texas license plate number CY6X154.
This vehicle will have a yellow Tyler Junior College sticker on the left side of the rear window and a heart pendant on the rearview mirror.
Mrs. Johnson was in possession of a 9MM Ruger Model P85 Semi-automatic pistol.
Anyone coming in contact with Mrs. Johnson or her vehicle should contact the sheriff's office at 903-566-6600 or call 911.
