Jarvis Christian College to host ninth annual fundraiser ball
Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins will host its ninth annual masquerade ball fundraiser on Saturday.
The event will be at 7 p.m. at the Longview Museum of Fine Arts, 215 E. Tyler St., and proceeds will benefit the United Negro College Fund, according to a news release from the college.
The Marti Gras-themed evening will feature live musical entertainment, the crowning of the king and queen, a catered dinner and KLTV anchor Dia Wall as the mistress of ceremonies, the release states.
UNCF provides operating capital for JCC and 37 other Historically Black Colleges and Universities, scholarships and internships for students in about 900 institutions and faculty and administrative professional training, the release states. The UNCF has distributed more funds to help minorities attend school than any entity outside the U.S. government.
