Reward offered for information in Greenville teen homicide case

Information leading to an arrest in connection with the homicide of a Greenville teenager found dead in Van Zandt County in November will be rewarded with money.

Alicia Chanta Moore, 16, was found in a chest-type trunk near a bridge on Farm-to-Market 47 around noon on Nov. 6, Van Zandt County Sherriff Pat Burnett said in November.

The teenager was last seen Nov. 2 getting off a school bus at the corner of Bourland and Walnut streets, in Greenville. The school’s camera footage showed her safely exiting the school building and the bus around 3:25 p.m.

On Tuesday, the Greenville Police Department and the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office announced a $25,000 reward fund was established for information leading to an arrest and conviction in connection with the homicide case, according to a news release from the Greenville Police Department.

Hunt County District Attorney’s Office, the Van Zandt County District Attorney’s office, the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office, Hunt County Crime Stoppers and Xerox each contributed $5,000 toward the reward fund, the release states.
