Restaurant chain to help benefit charity organization
When customers buy a bowl of soup at Chick-Fil-A, they can also help a family in need.

Through Feb. 15, all three Chick-Fil-A's in Tyler will be participating in a soup drive benefiting The Salvation Army.

Those locations include Broadway Crossing, Highlands Village, and Broadway Square Mall. For every bowl of soup that is purchased at Chick-fil-A, they will donate one bowl to The Salvation Army.

Last year, the soup purchases of the local community totaled 6,523 bowls of soup donated to The Salvation Army.

“That amazing soup donation went a long way in helping to provide meals to the thousands that enter and exit The Salvation Army each year as well as the thousands who are fed using the mobile canteen,” according to a written release from The Salvation Army. “As temperatures drop and the economy continues to change, the needs of the local community continue to increase.

However, Smith County never fails to come together to help The Salvation Army rise to the challenge and meet the needs of the community. With that in mind, expectations are high that Tyler will exceed last year's totals thereby helping a record number of people through the soup drive.”
