Dictatorship, January 18
How do dictators come to power? Throughout history it varies from assignation of the former leader to complacency of the citizens that lets a dictator simply sneak into power. The laws and constitutions are gradually violated and ignored. The governing parliament, congress or senate is then by-passed and all power is abrogated to a forceful dictator abusing executive powers.

Our Founding Fathers tried to prevent this but warned that it could happen if citizens become complacent and pursued their own personal benefit above the good of our country.

Strangely, we have extremes: those who willingly give their lives to defend, protect and preserve our constitutional democratic republic, and those who don’t lift a finger to preserve our liberty and freedom — they just take for their own personal gains.

Sadly the majority has now been educated and duped by vocal “gimmie” socialist groups into trading their liberty, freedom and votes to politicians for a monthly check, grant, benefit or false promise of security.
