Pet of the week
Ben, a 2-year-old chocolate male Labrador retriever mix, is available for adoption at the Humane Society of East Texas.
Ben loves to take walks and walks well on a leash. He is friendly, playful and energetic and because of his size, may need to be in a home with no small children. He has been neutered, is current on vaccinations, and has been microchipped for identification purposes. He comes with 30 days of free pet health insurance.

Adoption hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
