High school teacher charged with possession of child porn

A 42-year-old Henderson High School teacher was arrested Thursday after being charged with possession of child pornography, according to a news release from the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office.

A 42-year-old Henderson High School teacher was arrested Thursday after being charged with possession of child pornography, according to a news release from the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office.
James Brent Malone is confined to the Rusk County Jail on a $10,000 bond, after investigators searched his residence on Thursday in Rusk County and discovered a large quantity of child pornography in his possession, the release from the sheriff’s office stated.
The Cyber Crimes unit of the Longview Police Department called Rusk County investigators to assist in an ongoing possession of child pornography on Thursday, the release stated.

“The individual has been placed on administrative leave for the foreseeable future,” the release from the school district stated.
The investigation is ongoing, and the district is working in full cooperation with police and other authorities, according to the school district statement. The district stated that it was limited in the information that can be provided due to privacy laws.
“The safety of our children is our utmost priority, and Henderson ISD will do everything we can to protect the well being of Henderson students,” according to the statement.
