GOP antics, January 11
Even more fun for Democrats than winning back the White House and increasing our numbers in the U.S. House and Senate is watching the Republican Party devolve into a circular firing squad. This could be the end of the Republican Party as we have known it.
By 2016, we could see a Republican Party isolated in the Northeast with a smattering in the northern Mid-West. The new party, whatever it is called (“Piecemeal Libertarian?”) will be in essence a Dixiecrat Party made up of (mostly) old white Southerners. You can throw in Oklahoma.
Imagine the presidential race that year with Gov. Chris Christie as the Republican nominee and Hillary Clinton leading the Democrats — but who would be the New Party candidates?
I propose that Rep. Paul Ryan and Rand Paul.
Bring it on.
And happy New Year to all.
